INFINEON: Insights into the use of the FMEA method according to the 7 steps in the semiconductor industry
Dipl.-Ing. Jonas Ring, Process Owner Technical Risk Management, Infineon Technologies AG

There is usually a clear distinction between DFMEA and PFMEA. However, in the semiconductor industry, some contexts are different and require adapted approaches in order to set up FMEAs correctly in line with the 7-step method according to the AIAG / VDA FMEA manual. Possible misunderstandings are fueled by an approach according to JEP131, i.e. the JEDEC standard for the electronics and semiconductor industry, that does not conform to the 7-step method. An external expert was needed to resolve these misunderstandings and adapt the 7-step FMEA method and the underlying systems engineering approaches for the semiconductor industry. A second focus is the essential concentration on the relevant risks in the semiconductor industry, where there are sometimes thousands of requirements and millions of functions.

11:45 - 12:30 pm CEST

PRS: Reliability redefined: The power of partnership in machine performance
Gary Tyne, CMRP – Director, Pro-Reliability Solutions Limited

HENKEL: Leveraging FMEA data for greater impact: Unlocking its potential in large enterprises
Kristoffer Lindner, Global Head of Preventive Quality and Quality Lifecycle Excellence, Henkel Global Supply Chain BV

Scaling PLATO within a large enterprise like Henkel requires a thorough tracking of data points, integrating PLATO datasets with external data sources. To answer critical questions frequently asked within our organization — such as "How many red risks are overdue in APAC?", "Are we managing risks effectively at our key site in Germany?", and "What does our risk profile look like in Mexico?" — we launched a project in partnership with PeakAvenue to find practical solutions. This presentation will provide insights into the technical aspects of the project, as well as showcase the use cases and results achieved.

02:15 - 03:00 pm CEST

AUMA: Learning from failures - an approach to centralized failure detection based on FMEA
Dipl.-Ing,. Bernhard Wangler, Team Leader AQP & SQM, AUMA Riester GmbH & Co. KG

To standardize failure detection in customer service and in plants, we need a consistent failure catalog. The catalog must be organized in such a way that failures with different levels of detail can be detected and evaluated. This is based on the assumption that the FMEA must contain all conceivable failures. Accordingly, the failure network from the FMEA represents a suitable hierarchical structure for the failure catalog. If failures cannot be detected in this structure, the FMEA has a gap. This and unforeseen accumulations of failures provide an opportunity to learn and document the lessons learned in the FMEA.

Panel discussion: Will AI revolutionize your engineering and manufacturing process?

At this panel discussion, we want to explore the possibilities of using AI in the context of engineering and manufacturing processes with experts from industry and consulting. What are the benefits of AI? Which concerns are holding companies back from applying AI in engineering and manufacturing processes? Above all, we would like to inspire our PeakAvenue conference guests to think about the topic of AI and to envision its application in development and production environments.

from 06:00 pm CEST

QUALCOMM: Modularize it! FMEA and CP with e1ns.templates
Marcus Lindloff, Engineer Staff, RF360 Europe GmbH

Improving quality standards, shortened development cycles, cost reduction: Conducting FMEA in today’s world is challenging. Looking specifically at semiconductor businesses two things become obvious. Firstly, technologies and products evolve, they are rarely built from scratch. Secondly, there is a high amount of shared design elements, process steps, and manufacturing tools. In the search of solutions one cannot ignore that Excel is not suitable to keep up anymore. It takes two essential elements: a concept tailored to business needs and a tool capable to make it happen.

Join the journey from 4th edition FMEA to a modern FMEA concept with generic modules, compliant to AIAG / VDA standards within e1ns – prepared for tomorrow’s challenges.
