E1NS DRBFM

Systematic examination of changes to products and a creative discussion method

DRBFM (Design Review Based On Failure Mode) is a development-accompanying method that is becoming increasingly established in the industry. It provides a systematic view of changes to products and a creative discussion method to successfully master change processes in teamwork.

Product changes, new customer requirements, specification and application changes have resulted in problems and mass recalls in the past. DRBFM's goal is to make change management an integrated part of the development process.

  • Design and successfully implement change processes
  • Integration of all affected people into a “discussion” and shared responsibility
  • Ensure robust design in the event of design changes (shape, dimensions, tolerances, material)
  • Implement new customer requirements, specification changes and application modification
  • Securing changed manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Increasing the quality of engineering processes
  • Saving time by focusing on the change
  • Cost savings in the change process

Your benefits

Why DRBFM?

Fast and easy

  • Easy to use on the web
  • No (local) installation necessary
  • Distributed teamwork is encouraged
  • Free entry into the form supports brainstorming
  • DRBFM enters the function into the FMEA form
  • Can be individually expanded with the modular concept (additional columns, calculation options, “photo columns” for permanent visualization, etc.)

Focus on the essentials using knowledge

  • Changes are analyzed, without having to perform a full FMEA.
  • Having FMEA data already available is an advantage, but this is not a requirement for the change process.
  • Photos or other objects are integrated directly into the form for visualization purposes.
  • Data from the FMEA is used.
  • A function that already exists is checked to determine if it is affected by the changes.
  • Team members can comment regarding the change to reflect their concerns and suggestions.

Traceability is guaranteed

  • Traces are connections that describe the dependencies between different data.
  • Traces are used in a single form or in different system elements in several forms.
  • Trace overviews show complex relationships and the effects of a change graphically.
